PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN ATTENDS A FLOWER-LAYING CEREMONY AT THE MONUMENT OF NEUTRALITY

On December 12, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov attended a solemn flower-laying ceremony at the Monument of Neutrality.

Among those taking part in the ceremony were the Mejlis Chairperson, deputies to the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and agencies, deputies of the national parliament, representatives of public organizations, the mass media, and students.

The Guard of Honor, consisting of valiant soldiers of the National Army, lined up. They are worthy successors of glorious traditions of the Turkmen people’s courageous forefathers.

Then, the State Anthem of Turkmenistan struck up. The nation’s leader solemnly laid a wreath at the commemorative plaque installed at the foot of the grand Monument.

Following the head of state, the Mejlis Chairperson, deputies to the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, and other ceremony participants laid flowers.

2020 marks the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, which embodies the most important universal humanistic principles – lasting peace, mutual understanding, and friendship.

Special events and festivities, held to celebrate the momentous occasion, were intended to once again highlight the importance of the status of neutrality conferred upon our country by the international community. The principles of neutrality are becoming an integral and fundamental part of international policy.

After the solemn ceremony, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov warmly bid goodbye to its participants and left the venue. That same day, festive events were held across the country to mark International Neutrality Day.
