Turkmenistan and the UAE aim to expand bilateral ties

In the framework of the participation of the delegation of Turkmenistan in the World Governments Summit 2026, on February 4, 2026, in Abu Dhabi, a meeting was held between the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, and the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation in the political, diplomatic, and trade-economic spheres.

Particular attention was paid to issues related to intensifying efforts aimed at implementing large-scale joint projects, especially in the energy and transport and logistics sectors.

In this context, the expediency of preparing a Programme of Economic Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates was emphasized.

In addition, the sides exchanged views on a number of issues on the regional and international agenda.
