THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN HAS A MEETING WITH DEPUTY DEFENCE MINISTER OF RUSSIA
President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Defence Minister of Russian Federation, Colonel General Alexander Fomin in reception hall of the museum of Halk Hakydasy Memorial Complex.
The guest has come with honoured mission to take part in the events on occasion of the 75th anniversary of Great Victory in 1941 – 1945 Great Patriotic War and to hand over the Combat banner of the 748th Riffle Regiment, 206th Riffle Division, 2nd Ukrainian Front, where grandfather of the Head of Turkmen state Berdimuhamed Annayev used to fight, to Turkmen side.
Personal file of glorious warrior Berdimuhamed Annayev, who went through entire war and came back home with the Victory, have also been brought.
Having conveyed congratulations on President of Russia Vladimir Putin on occasion of the anniversary of the Great Victory, A. Fomin noted heroism and courage of warriors of 748th Riffle regiment, 206th Riffle Division, which only for the period of 1943 – 1944 has received 250 letters of gratitude from Supreme Military Commanders and were awarded with 2,500 medals and orders.
The guest expressed his admiration with patriotic poems “Lets sow good grains a lot!” written by 12-year old Myalikguly Berdimuhamedov back in 1944 as if he felt that Berdimuhamed Annayev was severely wounded in one of bloodshed battle at that time.
On behalf of the people of Turkmenistan and personally, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed big gratitude to President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and addressed return celebration greetings.
It was mentioned that hand over of the Combat banner and award of the high-ranking Medal of Honour to Berdimuhamed Annayev, which is kept in the museum of the Ministry of Defence these days, are taken as a sign of deep respect of Turkmenistan warriors, who fought hand by hand with representatives of other nations against the enemy and who made big input to the Victory as well as expression of invariably friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Russia.
Life of respected Berdimuhamedov Annayev, true patriot of his land and brave warrior, who fought boldly at the fronts of the Great Patriotic War and later at the time of peace, dedicated himself to pedagogic activity, serves as example of selfless dedication to the Motherland and people.
Having noted that such high appreciation of feat of Turkmenistan citizens would inspire younger generation, which continues glorious traditions of heroic ancestors, for better success, the Head of the State invited A. Fomin to take part as an honoured guest in military parade timed to current anniversary events.
On this day, Turkmenistan people widely observe the anniversary of the Victory over the fascism joining their voices to the voices of people of good will on the planet. For us, this is a celebration of true patriotism, which we celebration with big inspiration. We hour the memory of heroic compatriots who lost in the battlefields and pay due respect to our countrymen who came back as winners and to all who made their contribution to cherished Victory. Our new life, prosperity of native land have become the best memory of those who lost their life for our happiness and freedom, Turkmen leader highlighted.
Having expressed confidence in further strengthening of friendship and strategic partnership between two countries, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conveyed sincere wishes of health, happiness and prosperity to President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and fraternal Russian people.
