TURKMEN EXPOSITION AT BEIJING PEACE GARDEN MUSEUM

The national exposition of Turkmenistan was launched at the Peace Garden Museum on May 13-26 in the framework of the exhibition dedicated to the International Museum Day, organized by the Chinese Peace Foundation jointly with the Beijing International Peace Culture Foundation, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and other public organizations.
The video address of the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the exhibitors was included in the online collection of presentations “Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion”.
In his address, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the People’s Republic of China, Parahat Durdiyev highlighted the multifaceted activities of the museums of our country, which are conducting active research and educational work. The tourist and recreational potential of our state was presented to an international online audience, demonstrating the unique archaeological sites inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, as well as the natural pearls of the Turkmen land.
The Ambassador focused on the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality, briefly introducing the key characteristics and principles of the neutral legal status, embodied in the policies pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and determined the active position of the government in maintaining peace and stability, development of mutually beneficial and equal cooperation.
The ideological concept of the Turkmen stand was the motto of this year “Turkmenistan is the homeland of neutrality”, and the exposition background was the banner with the national emblem of the year. The works by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov devoted to the history and modern achievements of the country, historical, cultural and spiritual values of the Turkmen people occupied a special place in the exhibition.
The works of decorative and applied art, textile products, photo illustrations, and publishing products were presented at the exposition. The gastronomic presentation introduced the best dishes of Turkmen cuisine.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of online events dedicated to the International Museum Day, President of China World Peace Foundation, Li Ruohong underlined the importance of the Peace Garden museum, as well as the activities of the Fund in enhancing international humanitarian dialogue during the coronavirus pandemic.
Sharing his impressions of Turkmenistan’s stand, Li Ruohong expressed gratitude for the opportunity to get acquainted with the magnificent works of hand carpet weaving, underlining the high quality and export potential of textile products. Mr. Ruohong said that he admired the beauty and grace of the Ahelteke horses, which have become the standard of beauty in Chinese culture. He expressed gratitude to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the PRC for the provided video and photo materials, giving a detailed idea of the large-scale achievements in various industries, the enormous resource and scientific and technical potential of our country. In this regard, the importance of developing interstate cooperation was emphasized.
At the request of the Chinese side, the works by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov were gifted to the library of the Peace Garden Museum.
