NEW BANKNOTES ISSUED TO MARK NEUTRALITY DAY OF TURKMENISTAN

The Central Bank of Turkmenistan has put into circulation new upgraded banknotes in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 manats. The obverse colors and designs of the banknotes remain essentially unchanged. All the banknotes feature the symbol of the year designated as “Turkmenistan: A Land of Neutrality”.

On the reverse, the upgraded banknotes bear images of the International Turkmenbashi Seaport and the Constitution Monument, and the buildings depicted on the banknotes issued in 2014.

The image of this year’s symbol printed on the banknotes has iridescent print effects. The obverse of the banknotes carries a year of issue and a facsimile signature of the Chairman of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan.

The banknotes shall be accepted in Turkmenistan at full face value as a means of payment by all enterprises, organizations and institutions irrespective of the type of ownership and the type of activity. All banknotes of the Central Bank of Turkmenistan issued in 2009, 2012, 2014 and 2017 remain a legal means of payment in the country.
