TELEPHONE CONVERSATION OF PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN WITH PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF UZBEKISTAN
On December 11, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation.
Heartily congratulating President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the remarkable date – the 25th anniversary of neutrality, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev offered his best wishes to the head of Turkmenistan and the entire Turkmen nation. As highlighted, Uzbekistan highly values the forward-looking peace policy of neutral Turkmenistan, which has an integral role to play in enhancing stability and sustainable development in the region, and treasures very much the bonds of friendship and brotherly relations, which closely link the two countries.
Appreciative of the warm congratulations, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that the international legal status of permanent neutrality serves as the linchpin of Turkmenistan’s successful foreign policy implementation and the solid foundation for promoting equitable international relations based on mutual respect.
In this context, special importance is attached to fostering fruitful cooperation with the neighboring nations with whom the Turkmen people have long been linked by historical, political, economic and cultural bonds.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted with satisfaction the dynamic and progressive character of the brotherly, friendly and good neighborly dialogue between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan characterized by deep sincerity and openness.
The two countries’ heads also expressed their confidence that trust-based top-level contacts would continue to provide a sound basis for building on the effective partnership across the whole spectrum of areas.
Ending the conversation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reciprocated wishes for good health and success in their important state activities, and wished peace, well-being and prosperity to the fraternal nations of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
