The Second Turkmenistan-UAE Business Forum Held in Sharjah

A delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, headed by Chairman Mr. Mergen Gurdov, took part in the Second Turkmenistan-UAE Business Forum, which was held on 2 October 2025 at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).

The event was jointly organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), with the support of the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

The forum aimed to promote mutually beneficial cooperation, strengthen business relations, and expand investment opportunities between the two countries.

The forum brought together representatives of government institutions, business communities, and the private sector of Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates.

Among the participants were H.E. Humaid Mohammed bin Salem, Secretary General of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and H.E. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Expo Centre Sharjah, along with other UAE representatives.

In his opening remarks, H.E. Abdallah Sultan Al Owais highlighted the high level of relations between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates, emphasizing the strategic importance of further developing economic cooperation. He reaffirmed Sharjah’s readiness to support Turkmen companies interested in building partnerships with the emirate’s business community and expanding their presence in regional markets.

Delivering his welcoming address, Mr. Mergen Gurdov noted that the active development of trade and economic relations between the two countries reflects the commitment of their leadership to strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation. He stressed that Turkmenistan continues its consistent policy of economic diversification and actively attracts foreign investment, creating favorable conditions for doing business.

H.E. Serdarmammet Garajayev, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the UAE, emphasized the high level of mutual understanding and trust between the two nations and highlighted the important role of business forums in implementing joint projects and promoting partnership initiatives in practice.

As part of the forum, representatives of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade presented an overview of the country’s investment climate and competitive advantages.

For their part, Turkmen entrepreneurs presented a series of their own projects, showcasing the potential of Turkmenistan’s national economy in sectors such as industry, agriculture, energy, and logistics, and expressed interest in establishing direct connections with UAE companies.

In addition, the event featured an exhibition of Turkmen products, displaying industrial and food items, textiles, light industry goods, and construction materials. The exhibition attracted significant interest from the Emirati business community, highlighting the diversity and competitiveness of Turkmen products in international markets.

The forum also included B2B meetings between entrepreneurs and company representatives from both countries. These discussions gave the event a strong practical focus, as participants explored concrete ways of cooperation, exchanged contacts, and expressed mutual interest in developing joint projects. The meetings helped strengthen trust between the business communities of the two countries and made the forum even more productive and successful, reaffirming its importance as an effective platform for building long-term partnerships.

The Turkmen delegation also visited the permanent exhibition of Sharjah’s industrial products, where they familiarized themselves with the activities of local enterprises and the latest trends in the emirate’s industrial development.

The Second Turkmenistan-UAE Business Forum became an important step in strengthening mutually beneficial and long-term cooperation, aimed at sustainable development, innovation, and the expansion of trade and economic relations between the two friendly nations.
