Meeting between the Turkmen Ambassador and the Director of the Economic and Trade Affairs Departmentof the UAE MFA
On 2 February 2026, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the UAE, Bayram Bayramov, and the Director of the Economic and Trade Affairs Department of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rashed Al Teneiji.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral economic and trade cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United Arab Emirates. Particular attention was paid to the expansion of bilateral trade turnover, the strengthening of economic ties, as well as the development of direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries and cooperation in a business-to-business format.
In this context, it was noted that in 2026, a Turkmenistan-UAE Business Forum was organized and held at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Emirate of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates.The parties emphasized the successful organization of the forum, its practical importance for the development of trade and economic cooperation, and confirmed their interest in continuing this format of interaction in the future.
Special attention was also given to opportunities for the Turkmen side to participate in international economic, financial, trade, commercial, and investment events regularly held in the United Arab Emirates. In this regard, the parties discussed the participation of Turkmen entrepreneurs in international fairs and exhibitions, as well as the participation of UAE business representatives in similar events organized in Turkmenistan.
In addition, the sides exchanged views on the organization of exhibitions and presentations of Turkmenistan’s products in the United Arab Emirates, including textile industry products, traditional Turkmen carpets, and other types of competitive national products.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to maintain regular contacts and to continue a constructive dialogue on issues of mutual interest with a view to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
