Turkmenistan and Iraq Ambassadors Discuss Strengthening Cooperation and Upcoming International Forum
On September 25, 2024, a meeting took place at the Embassy of Iraq in Abu Dhabi between the Ambassadors of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Iraq, initiated by the Turkmen side.
They discussed the current state of relations and prospects for their development, particularly in the areas of trade, culture, and energy. The Turkmen side expressed interest in strengthening cooperation and noted the importance of previous negotiations at the level of the foreign ministers of both countries.
Special attention was given to the upcoming International Forum in Ashgabat, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great thinker and poet Magtymguly Fragi. The Ambassador of Iraq noted the significance of the event and informed that Iraq’s participation in the Forum is still under consideration.
The possibility of high-level visits in the near future was also discussed.
Both ambassadors reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation and advancing political, economic, and cultural ties.
