Meeting of the Ambassador of Turkmenistan with the Director-General of IRENA

On October 7, 2025, a meeting took place between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Serdarmammet Garajayev, and the Director-General of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), Mr. Francesco La Camera, at the Agency’s headquarters, on the occasion of the completion of the Ambassador’s diplomatic mission.

During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed sincere appreciation for IRENA’s constructive cooperation and support in strengthening the partnership between Turkmenistan and the Agency. He emphasized that cooperation with IRENA represents an important aspect of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy aimed at advancing green energy, rational use of natural resources, and achieving sustainable development goals.

Mr. Francesco La Camera, in turn, commended the high level of engagement with the Embassy and the Ambassador personally, noting his contribution to enhancing dialogue between IRENA and Turkmenistan. He highlighted the significant potential of Central Asia in renewable energy and critical minerals and expressed hope for Turkmenistan’s participation in the regional initiative APRECA (Accelerated Partnership for Renewable Energy in Central Asia).

The sides also discussed IRENA’s participation in the upcoming Forum in Ashgabat, dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality and the International Year of Peace and Trust, proclaimed by the UN General Assembly.

The meeting took place in a spirit of friendship, mutual understanding, and commitment to further cooperation.
