Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Delivers Address at World Governments Summit in Dubai

During the participation of the delegation of Turkmenistan in the World Governments Summit, which was held from February 3 to 5, 2026, in Dubai, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, H.E. Rashid Meredov, delivered a speech on February 3, 2026, at the session titled «The Future of Global Alliances», held at the Summit venue.

Speaking at the session, the Minister outlined Turkmenistan’s approach to addressing pressing issues faced by the international community.

It was noted that Turkmenistan advocates coordinated cooperation between states based on respect for international law, consideration of mutual interests, and the effective engagement of each country’s potential in the interests of sustainable development.

This approach was reflected in concrete initiatives. In particular, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan had put forward the initiative to declare 2028 as the «Year of International Law». Turkmenistan consistently supports constructive multilateral cooperation, calling for responsibility, predictability, and openness in international relations.

During the speech, specific mechanisms for the development of partnerships were outlined, including effective public administration, the exchange of expertise, as well as unlocking the economic potential of countries through transport connectivity and increased energy efficiency.
