A ROUND-TABLE WITH THE TOKYO UNIVERSITY OF FOREIGN STUDIES

On the 11th of November 2020, a roundtable was held between the International University for the Humanities and Development of Turkmenistan and the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies which was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan. 

The meeting attended by the faculty and students of two institutes of higher education was chaired by the Pro-rector of the International University for the Humanities and Development of Turkmenistan Nurmuhammed Shihliyev and the Pro-rector of the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies Jun Matsukuma.

In his speech, N. Shihliyev informed about the long-term efficient cooperation in the framework of agreements signed between the two institutes of higher education. He also thoroughly explained to his Japanese colleagues about the role and importance of the neutral status in the process of strengthening international humanitarian relations, development of the education system and the sustainable economic growth of neutral Turkmenistan.    

In his turn, Jun Matsukuma congratulated his Turkmen colleagues with the holiday of permanent Neutrality and wished great successes to the country.  He also noted the vital input of Turkmenistan in maintenance of peace and sustainable development during the 25 years.   

The lecturer of the International University for the Humanities and Development and the student of the Tokyo University of Foreign Languages studying the Turkmen language also gave speeches at the event. In their speeches, they noted the importance of the positive neutrality policy of Turkmenistan carried out by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

In the end of the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of strengthening academic cooperation.
