NEWLY APPOINTED AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY OF JAPAN TO TURKMENISTAN PRESENTED HIS CREDENTIALS
On November 24, 2020, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Turkmenistan Yamamoto Hiroyuki, who presented his credentials to the Head of state.
Expressing his sincere gratitude for the time given, the diplomat conveyed warm greetings to the leader of the nation from Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister of Japan Suga Yoshihide, who addressed wishes of well-being and prosperity to the entire Turkmen people.
Thanking for the kind words and conveying greetings and best wishes to the Emperor and the Prime Minister of Japan, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stressed that Turkmenistan also attaches great importance to the development of fruitful cooperation with the Land of the Rising Sun, which he sees as one of the reliable business partners.
Congratulating Yamamoto Hiroyuki on the appointment to a responsible diplomatic post, the leader of the nation wished him success in further strengthening the long-term bilateral cooperation, which at the present stage has reached a qualitatively new level.
Continuing the meeting, the Head of state and the Japanese diplomat noted with satisfaction the progressive, strategic nature of the interstate partnership, which is also dynamically developing in a multilateral format, as evidenced by the mutual support of constructive initiatives and proposals put forward within the framework of authoritative regional and international organizations.
The bilateral relations received a powerful impetus during the visits of the President of Turkmenistan to Japan and the Prime Minister of Japan to our country in recent years, as a result of which specific agreements were reached, aimed at realizing the existing potential of cooperation in various fields.
In this regard, the leader of the nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Japanese diplomat noted the existence of broad prospects for the intensification of mutually beneficial ties. This is directly facilitated by regular contacts and exchanges of delegations at various levels, meetings of the Turkmen-Japanese and Japanese-Turkmen committees for economic cooperation, joint business forums, as well as interaction within the framework of the Central Asia + Japan Dialogue.
A clear confirmation of the success of the bilateral partnership, built on a long-term basis, is the productive work of world-famous Japanese companies in our country, their participation in the implementation of important infrastructure projects.
Along with the trade and economic sphere, among the topical areas of Turkmen-Japanese interaction are the energy sector, oil and gas chemistry, transport and logistics, and a number of other industries where there are also great prospects.
Humanitarian contacts are an integral part of the interstate dialogue. In this aspect, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Japanese diplomat noted the dynamic nature of bilateral ties in the field of science, education and culture. At the same time, there are good opportunities for expanding cooperation in the field of health, as well as in the field of sports.
At the end of the meeting, the leader of the nation and the Japanese diplomat reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of Turkmenistan and Japan to a constructive interstate dialogue, built on the principles of equality, mutual respect and long-term strategic partnership.
