MEETING BETWEEN OIL AND GAS SECTOR REPRESENTATIVES OF TURKMENISTAN AND ARAB REPUBLIC OF EGYPT
On January 21, a video-conference meeting was held between oil and gas industry representatives of Turkmenistan and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Turkmenistan was represented by executives and representatives of Turkmennebit, Turkmengaz, and Turkmenhimiya State Concerns. Senior officials and staff of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and a number of leading oil and gas corporations of Egypt were among those who participated in the meeting from the Egyptian side.
In the course of the meeting, the parties highlighted the two countries’ willingness to develop multifaceted relations across the whole spectrum. Discussions centered on potential projects in the oil and gas sector, including petrochemical projects and possibilities for Egyptian specialists’ to participate in them. Consideration was also given to prospects for establishing contacts between the business communities and for developing mechanisms for expertise exchange between the two countries’ specialists.
The sides also explored the possibility of organizing joint events, including conferences and forums aimed to expand the mutually advantageous partnership.
As is known, the development of cooperation with African countries is one of the priorities of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy.
