THE PRESIDENT OF TURKMENISTAN HOLDS WORKING VIDEO CONFERENCE SESSION

On February 1, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has held working video conference session with participation of the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, who is in charge of agricultural complex, and governors of the regions of the country.

Issues of social and economic development of the regions, preparation to coming sowing campaign, seasonal agricultural works have been reviewed and reports of the heads of regional administrations about work carried out for the past week have been presented at the session.

First, the floor was given to the Governor of Ahal Region Ya. Gurbanov.

The head of regional administration has reported on the situation in the region, having focused on preparation to coming cotton sowing campaign.

Further, the Governor of Balkan Region T. Atahalliyev has reported to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the situation in agricultural complex of the western region.

The working video conference session has been continued with the report of the Governor of Dashoguz Region N. Nazarmyradov.

Further, the Governor of Lebap Region Sh. Amangeldiyev has reported on the situation of the region.

The Governor of Mary Region D. Annaberdiyev was the last among the heads of regional administrations to report on work carried out in the region.

The governors have reported on preparation to sowing of vegetable crops in set schedule, development of the fields, ploughing and leveling as well as on care of the winter crops according to the requirements. It was also reported about maintenance of agricultural equipment and provision of farmers with necessary seeding material.

It was reported on the measures for provision of timely and qualitative works in the regions planned this year in the Program of social and economic development of the country in 2019 – 2025 and in National rural program.

In addition, all efforts are put for completion of construction of the facilities, which are timed to be opened on the 30th anniversary of the Motherland’s independence, according to the set schedule.

Having listened to the reports of the heads of the regions, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has focused on importance of preparation of agricultural fields to the cotton sowing, in particular on ploughing and leveling of land. At the same time, it is necessary to provide proper maintenance of agricultural equipment and prepare seeding material for cotton producers, which would allow conduction the campaign on qualitative level and in set timeframe.

The Head of the State highlighted that it is necessary to take measures for planting of spring potato, onion and other vegetable crops according to agricultural requirements in order to receive rich harvest and improve food provision.

The President of Turkmenistan has given instructions for mineral fertilization and vegetation irrigation of grain crops according to agricultural standards and demanded to fulfil all works planned this year by the Program of social and economic development and National rural program.

Speaking of importance of active application of advanced achievements of modern science in combination with rich national farming experience, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted that it is necessary to work together with scientists of Turkmen Agricultural Institute in this direction.

It would be appropriate if profile scientists would start researches in the sphere of improvement of properties of agricultural crops, in particular the properties of potato, improvement of its quality, productivity and nutrition factor, the leader of the nation highlighted. At the same time, it is necessary to take into consideration that these crops have to meet local soil and climate conditions.

It is also required that specialists of the Institute would make valid contribution to the process of solution of current ecological objectives in Central Asian region, one of which is to save the Aral Sea, the head of the state noted, having given relative assignments.

The head of the state has also pointed out the importance of timely completion of works at the social and industrial facilities under construction, which are planned to be opened on the 30th anniversary of the Motherland’s independence. The governors have been requested to hold under strict control the heat and electricity provision of living houses, schools and kindergartens.

Further, the leader of the nation has listened to the report of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers E. Orazgeldiyev who is in charge of agricultural complex.

Reporting on accomplished work, the Vice-premier has informed about fulfilment of instructions given by the head of the state, implementation of activities planned for fulfilment of set objectives on development of agricultural industry and on the situation at relative constructions sites.

Having listened to the report, the President of the country requested to provide proper maintenance of all agricultural equipment and vehicles, which is available in the regions, in technical service facilities and efficient use of the equipment in seasonal campaigns.

Having focused on such important subject as preparation to coming sowing of cotton, leader of the nation Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed out the necessity to make full use of agricultural equipment for ploughing and leveling of lands according to set timeframe.

The Head of the State has instructed to provide high-quality processing of raw cotton at cotton gin facilities as well as to prepare seeds, which are required for the sowing season.

The President of Turkmenistan has highlighted the importance of strict control of storage of wheat according to relative requirements at the facilities as well as of production of high-quality flour, bread and bakery.

At the same time, the leader of the nation highlighted that it is necessary to work with regional administrations on provision of the population of the country with sufficient volume of potato and vegetable and cucurbitaceous crops of own make. In this regard, agricultural producers have to be supplied with qualitative seeding material.

Having noted that during the last session of the Government, Vice-premier E. Orazgeldiyev and other Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers have been ordered to analyze the work of each branch, the head of the state pointed out the importance of preparation of relative report to coming extended session of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country.
